SLIIT partners with MillenniumIT ESP to offer a Technology Graduate Scholarship Program

The Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT), recognised for offering innovative and pathbreaking courses to boost local and international career prospects, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MillenniumIT ESP, one of the largest fast-moving, purpose-driven technology solutions for businesses across the globe. The Industry Engagement Unit of the Faculty of Computing, in collaboration with MillenniumIT ESP (MIT ESP), offers this Scholarship program for undergraduate students of the Faculty of Computing.
This event took place on October 24, 2022 at SLIIT Malabe Campus in the presence of a bilateral delegation representing SLIIT and MIT ESP. The MOU was signed by Prof. Nimal Rajapakse, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of SLIIT and Shevan Goonetilleke, CEO/Director of Millennium IT ESP. Moreover, Mahesh Wijenayake, Chief Technology Officer; Ms. Kushlani De Silva, Senior Director/Marketing, Ms. Upeksha Ishani, Assistant Manager/People and Culture, and Ms. Ravishani Amarathunga, Assistant Manager/Marketing, were also present at the ceremony to represent MIT ESP. Dr. Nuwan Kodagoda, Associate Dean, Amila Senarathne, Head/Industry Engagement Unit, Prof. Sanath Jayawardana, Head of the Department of Computer Systems Engineering; Samantha Rajapaksha, Head of the Department of Information Technology; Dr. Anuradha Jayakody, Head of the Graduate Studies;  Yashas Mallawarachchi, Director of Academic Affairs; Uditha Gamage, Director of Student Services and Outreach and Ms. Tharushi Wimalaweera, Career Guidance Unit, represented SLIIT in this event.

SLIIT, founded in 1999, is a Ministry of Education recognised Institute which stands today as a symbol of excellence in non-government post-secondary education. It is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) and the International Association of Universities (IAU) and the first Sri Lankan Institute accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology, UK. SLIIT produces highly employable graduates at all levels in IT and other Industries and over 30,000 have graduated, with a 96% employment rate.

The scholarships are open to students in all undergraduate programs in the Faculty of Computing at SLIIT and aimed at equipping and empowering high-potential students with technical and other skills.
