Inaugural Ceremony of Department of English Language Teaching at OUSL

The inaugural ceremony of the recently established Department of English Language Teaching (ELTD) at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) was held on February 20, at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The ceremony was attended by the Guest of Honour, Senior Professor Marie E. S. Perera, Director NEREC, Department of Humanities Education, University of Colombo, the Vice Chancellor Prof. S.A. Ariaduari, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. S.N. Morias, the founding head of DELT Dr. Anoma Satharasinghe, Registrar Vindya Jayasena and Lecturer Subashi Wijesingha.
The keynote address was delivered by the Guest of Honour, Senior Professor Marie E. S. Perera.
Establishing the Department of English Language Teaching is a major initiative to enhance the English Language Skills for both undergraduate and postgraduate students of the Open University of Sri Lanka and to cater to the English language requirements of a wider population in the country. The Open University of Sri Lanka is turning a milestone with its 40th year this year.
