Horizon Campus Opens Second Intake for Early Childhood Education

Over the past decade, increasing awareness of the long-term benefits of early childhood education has led to a growing industry that is currently showing agrowth rate of 8 %, which is estimated to eventually lead to a whopping 25 % growth trajectory by the end of the decade.

The rising interest has been prompted by an abundance of research studies promoting the importance of early education on long-term child development.
The Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University states that “the basic concepts, established over decades of neuroscience and behavioural research, help illustrate why child development, particular from birth to eight years, is a foundation for a prosperous and sustainable society.” Based on such findings, parents across the world have showcased their willingness to pay a premium to give their children these identified advantages. This in turn offers those qualified in this industry, a robust career path with many new jobs opportunities.
With a focus on igniting and deepening the knowledge and skills of Early Childhood Education (ECE) professionals in Sri Lanka, Horizon Campus has collaborated with the Asia e University (Malaysia) to offer the internationally benchmarkedBachelor of Education (Early Childhood Education)degree to the local market.The practitioner-led curriculum,builds on a strong foundation in early childhood education and focuses on strategies and best practices related to all areas of early childhood education, that includes, children with special needs, education psychology, emotional development of children and language and literacy for young children.

Having reaped a very successful outcome with their initial batch, the program which has garnered popular demand, is now accepting applications for the coming academic year. As such, Horizon Campus recently held an orientation for over 30 registered students at their main branch in Malabe.
The orientation gave the participants a detailed overview of the degree and curriculum, the practical activities and opportunities offered and an insight into the career paths available upon qualification.
