SriLankan Aviation College

SriLankan Aviation College (SLAC) is the training arm of the National carrier, SriLankan Airlines. It was established as International Aviation Academy in 2006 and was re-launched as SriLankan Aviation College (SLAC) in 2014 after the amalgamation of International Aviation Academy and SriLankan Technical Training.

During its operations, SLAC has gained accreditations and recognition from local and international bodies. It was recognized by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as one of the Top Ten Training Centers in the world and as the first South Asian country to obtain the Regional Training Partners (RTP) accreditation. SLAC is the only EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) approved training facility in the South Asian region. It was granted one of the highest industrial standards, EASA part 147 approval for Aircraft Maintenance Training Organizations specializing in category A1, B1.1 (mechanical) and B2 (avionics) engineering and type training programs. It is accredited by Civil Aviation Authorities (DGCA) of Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Maldives. SLAC is also the only educational institute in Sri Lanka certified by ISO 29990:2010 for non-formal education.

SLAC has been in the airline training for the past few decades preparing students to become aviation professionals and gain personal success in the aviation industry anywhere in the world. It is committed to delivering a career–focused, innovative and comprehensive portfolio of aviation training courses which ranges from Airport Services, Cargo and Dangerous Goods Regulations, Image Consultancy and Cabin Crew and Travel and Tourism training to Technical training. It caters to both local and foreign students. SLAC also provides services to corporates in developing their human capital by providing customized training solutions. In future, SLAC plans on expanding its horizons by introducing degree programmes in aviation field to aspiring youth in Sri Lanka.
